Sean is a banking and finance practitioner with considerable litigation and dispute resolution experience.

He brings a wealth of experience to Elliott May’s legal practice, and is responsible for all aspects of litigation, including advising clients on prospects, drafting proceedings, conducting disclosure and instructing counsel on interlocutory applications and at trial.

After graduating from the TC Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland, Sean worked as a litigator for a major Queensland firm, as well as for White O’Connor, an entertainment litigation law firm in Los Angeles. He returned to Australia and in 2006 opened his own firm, which merged with Elliott May in 2009.

In his role as litigation partner, Sean is responsible for the following matters:

  • All aspects of mortgage lending and enforcement, including preparation of offer documentation, loan agreements, mortgages, priority deeds, charges and guarantees, as well as issuing possession proceedings and facilitating the exercise of power of sale by mortgagees in possession.
  • Acting for parties involved in, or about to commence litigation ranging from listed public companies to smaller businesses and individuals.
  • Providing practical advice in matters associated with debt recovery management, intellectual property, insolvency matters, contractual disputes, debt recovery and defamation actions.
  • Providing advice in relation to corporate compliance, capital raising, business finance activities, securities enforcement and workplace matters.
